As an author, it's easy to get discouraged when you don't see the sales results you're expecting from your books. Each time I put out another #ElenaRansom adventure I think the sales will explode, but that hasn't happened yet.
In addition, when I can't get people to review my books on Amazon it's discouraging. But then, a sweet note in my mailbox can cause hope to stir in my heart. You see, my average readers are between 9-12 years old. These readers don't have access to the internet the way adults do. So, typically, I don't hear from them.
But that doesn't mean what I write doesn't impact them. Here's a recent hand written note and review from an 11-year-old:
And my response? A hand-written "thank you" note with a bookmark and free bag.
I love receiving fan mail. It's SO VERY encouraging. If you have a child that's too young to leave a review on Amazon, please feel free to have them write me at:

I have so much to be thankful for this year! Please remember to pick up your copies of #ElenaRansom when you do your #blackfriday and #cybermonday shopping.
Today is SO AWESOME! My new book "Elena Ransom and the Unexpected Disclosure" is FINALLY out. Each year when it comes time to publish the next book in this 6 book series I always secretly wonder if it's going to happen. Well, it DID HAPPEN! TODAY!
If you love YA fantasy adventure, then this book series is for you! And I'm not even done yet. I still have 3 more books to do until the series is complete. Also, if you could order today, that would be SO HELPFUL because it improves my Amazon ranking when multiple copies of a book are ordered on one specific day.
I'm speaking at 2 different middle schools this month. AND this Saturday, November 3 I'm going to be signing copies of my books at Another Chapter Bookstore in Cumming.

Dear Epic Inkers,
I felt out of place as a teen...more than once. But the truth is, we're only as alone as we choose to be. I'm not saying it's easy to make friends or feel connected with people, but don't be discouraged!
