My week was all set! I was going to speak with 3 different middle school classes about being an author and promote the fact that my third book is being released on November 1. Then, alas, tragedy.
Well, not a huge tragedy, but both my kids came home with fevers from school. I had to cancel 2 out of my 3 schools. It was really hard for me to not go. Don't get me wrong. I love staying home with my kids and I'm happy to do that when they're sick because a lot of parents aren't able to have that kind of freedom with the work they do.
But still, it was really hard not to go share my passion and promote my books. Things were looking pretty bleak, but then I got a call that my bags were in...
I do a raffle with the groups I speak with each time. I've raffled off books and tshirts, and now I have these bags. I LOVE THEM!
So, I'm crossing my fingers for healthy kids so that I can go visit my next 6th grade class on Monday. Keep on trying!!
Dear Epic Inkers,
I felt out of place as a teen...more than once. But the truth is, we're only as alone as we choose to be. I'm not saying it's easy to make friends or feel connected with people, but don't be discouraged!
